To watch our Family Vision Video, click the play button in the box to the left.First Baptist Groves believes in family. God established the family at the beginning of creation when he created Adam and Eve as the worlds first couple and eventually the first family. We believe our church will be as strong as the family is strong. We minister to families with an age-graded Sunday School that covers nursery to senior adults. Each of these classes gives learners an opportunity to study Gods word at a level they can comprehend. On Wednesday evenings, we offer Lay Institute For Equipping or L.I.F.E. LIFE is for the whole family and is a series of classes on topics that are prevalent for todays circumstances including marriage and family.

Who doesn't like thinking about Heaven? But Hell, no one likes thinking through that idea. Join us as we walk through what the Bible says concerning Heaven and Hell starting the last Sunday of January. To watch the current series click this link: Heaven and Hell.Click HERE to view the HEAVEN and HELL Devotional & Sermon Guide

Our L.I.F.E. classes are small groups that meet to study practical topics for every day living. The leaders facilitate the small groups to an understanding of the scripturally based material and practical ways to use that knowledge in everyday living.Classes begin at 6:00PM on Wednesdays unless otherwise noted.Click this link to see Fall 2012 Life Class List

The Well is a community of Seniors, College Students, Singles, and Young Marrieds who are seeking to worship and be satisfied in Jesus, as well as, spreading the Gospel of Christ among their peers. Really we are a rag-tag group of people who are vastly different, but are united in Christ. We welcome any and everyone, and would love for you to join us as we meet on Monday Nights at 7 in the living room of Kyle Worley at 6320 39th St. Groves, TX. Click here for directions.

Connected, Committed, Contagious! Here at First Baptist we are trying to live out our faith in a way that embodies the heart of Jesus. We want to be Connected: Building Relationships with one another that are meaningful and missional. We were made to live in community with one another (Acts 2:43-47). We want to be Committed: Transforming Lives through the Word of God as disciples of Jesus. We are saved to know Christ and to make Him known (Romans 12:1-2). We want to stand out from the world in order to speak the Good News of salvation. We want to be Contagious: Sharing Freedom that comes through the Gospel of Jesus. We are called to be obedient to the great commission (Matthew 28:19-20), by making disciples of Jesus. In short, First Baptist is striving to be a Biblically formed church that is faithful and obedient to our Lord. Expository preaching, life application and missional living are at the heart of what we are about.

Coming Up -We believe that there is one God eternally existing in three persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit-We believe that the Bible is God's written revelation to man and that it is verbally inspired, authoritative and without error.-We believe in the deity of Jesus Christ, His virgin birth, sinless life, miracles, death on the cross to provide for our salvation, bodily resurrection and ascension into heaven, present intercession for us, and His return to earth in power and glory.-We believe the person and deity of the Holy Spirit, that He performs the miracle of new birth in an unbeliever and indwells believers, enabling them to live a godly life.-We believe that man was created in the image of God but because of sin, was alienated from God. That separation can be removed only by accepting through faith alone, God's gift of salvation which was made possible through the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ.

The student ministry exists to be an extension of the church. The ministry serves students between 6th and 12th grade. Our purpose is to connect students to the Lord, the church, and other believers, teach them so that they commit their lives to Him, and equip them to the point that they become contagious carriers of the gospel. We meet weekly on Wednesday night for Fuel, our weekly bible study and worship service, on Wednesday Nights in the Zone at First Baptist Groves at 6 PM.We also meet every Sunday morning at 9:30 AM to catch up, dig into the word of God, and experience the power of God through prayer. For a full schedule you can head over to our Facebook Page, or look at the Church Schedule by clicking on these links. To check out any of our videos click on this Youtube Link.

A son of the community of faith here at First Baptist Groves; Kyle graduated from Dallas Baptist University in May 2010 with a double B.A. in Biblical Studies and Philosophy. While at Dallas Baptist University, Kyle spent two years working full time with a student discipleship ministry. He came home to Groves in July 2010 and has been serving as Student and College Pastor at First Baptist Church of Groves since then. His wife, Lauren, is his greatest partner in ministry and the greatest gift God has given him. Lauren is a teacher in Port Arthur and has the most beautiful voice you have ever heard. Kyle has a deep passion for seeing disciples made, disciples serving, and disciples going on mission. Kyle is currently pursuing two graduate degrees: a M.A. in Theology from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary and a M. Div. from Redeemer Theological Seminary. Kyle and Lauren love BBQ, books, coffee, organic food, and Austin.

A product of First Baptist-Groves, Brady has served the mid-county area as a student minister since he graduated high school. His passion for ministry is shaped by the desire to reach every aspect of the student's life. Brady has honed skills in leading worship through singing, playing instruments, as well as developing multiple teaching styles. Brady is a bi-vocational minister and teaches math at Groves Middle School. His wife, Amy (who is also a product of FBC-G), is also a teacher and a wonderful asset to Brady's ministry. Brady and Amy have a daughter, Madyson, and a son, Carter.

Our Worship Leader has been with us for over 6 years. A former FBC Groves church member, Bro. Guy, was called into Bi-Vocational ministry over 17 years ago and has now returned to First Baptist to lead "heart-felt, passionate worship" (Ephesians 5:19-20). Guy is equipped to lead any worship style and uses his leadership to reach all age groups. Guy is a full-time Engineer with DuPont Sabine River Works in Orange, Texas. His family lives in the Little Cypress area where his wife, Michelle, works for LCMCISD and his daughter, Mallory, is a Freshman at Lamar State College - Orange.

Bro. Charles came to First Baptist Groves from public school education where he was a classroom teacher and coach for nearly 30 years. He and his wife Clarice, a retired school teacher, live in Bridge City and enjoy spending time with their children and 4 grandchildren. Public education's main goal is to prepare minds for success in the world. Christian education's main goal is to prepare a soul for eternity. After someone comes to a personal relationship with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, Christian education helps that person grow to be more like Jesus.

Pastor Worley is completing his 15th year at First Baptist Groves. His wife Cheryl is a school teacher and his youngest son Tanner, attends college in College Station while his oldest son Kyle just came on staff as co-youth pastor. Brother Joe is an equipping pastor who believes in expository preaching to prepare God's people for impact in the world.
